NextUp
NextUp is a Windows Desktop Meeting Reminder App, which has several notifications methods, configurable to suite different needs and workflows. It removes the need to clock watch, by providing calendar notifications that work for you.
NextUp allows you to alter the notifications independently of your Google Calendar Notification or Microsoft Outlook Calendar Notifications.
NextUp provides several notification mechanisms
Visual signals on the taskbar, provides meeting information at a glance. Taskbar ICON changes colour, green, yellow and red.
Count down the time remaining on the taskbar. Both for before meetings start, and also for when meetings end.
Play audio alerts.
Play voice alerts. i.e. event starts in 2 minutes.
Play audio alarms , audio that plays continuously, with an increasing volume.
Pop-Up dialogs that become visible at the time of the alert.
You can configure up to four alert times, before meetings start, as well as for when meetings end. At the time of the alert, the configured audio will play, as well as display a pop-up dialog. This behaviour is configurable, and can be altered in the settings.
Remote workers, typically have a need to join meetings remotely via video calls. For this they need to be reminded of meetings, ahead of time, and also join video calls.
Being reminded ahead of time is important, and these notifications help for different scenarios:
When you are located at your desk, the visual taskbar ICON provides non distracting alerts, allowing you to focus.
Audio or voice alerts, are useful for when not looking at your screen.
When stepping away from your desk, the audio alarm will draw your attention, as it gradually increases the volume.
At the time of the meeting join with ease, the PopUp dialogs alerts you, and displays real time information on the time remaining, along with convenient video call links. Allowing you to Join the call with a single click.
Clinicians and Consultants needs are slightly different, as they need to both attend meetings on time, but also need time to wrap up meetings.
Wrapping-up meetings ahead of time, is important to stay on schedule:
The taskbar ICON shows the time remaining. i.e. "-15m" negative 15m signifies, 15 minutes before meeting ends. Useful for when doing remote consultations while the screen is visible.
Audio alerts signals it's time to wrap up meetings, useful for when not looking at your screen. You can set the alert time that suites your needs, allowing enough time for wrapping up.
